Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA, refers to the combat sport that permits grappling and striking incorporating techniques from martial arts and different combat sports. Elixir Fitness offers MMA fitness programs for increasing endurance, improving conditioning, and streamlining response. Boxing, Kick Boxing, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu and other combat sports are an integral part of an MMA fitness exercise regimen. A former U.S. Navy SEAL invented the TRX (Total-body Resistance Exercise). It converts each exercise form into a challenge for the core by using two very accessible resources: gravity and ones own bodyweight. By anchoring the TRX straps to a secure spot (somewhere stable to serve as your base) and use either feet or hands — depending on the exercise — to hold onto the straps a part of your body which will be suspended above the ground or you’ll be leaning into or away from the straps to create resistance and destabilisation.
